By now I’m sure we’ve all heard about the situation with Chris Brown and Rihanna during Grammy weekend. While we’re still waiting on more updates because of legal issues, we bloggers can always have an opinion about it. It began early Sunday morning before the Grammys, and it was all downhill from there. Sources still aren’t for sure whether the assaulted woman was Rihanna, but pictures of her injuries are now scattered across the web.
Up until this point, Chris Brown’s image was squeaky clean. Some fans of R&B may have known that Brown wasn’t all sweetness and light, but an allegation like this could tarnish his reputation forever. Rihanna was seen as innocent as well, but the more that comes out about the incident the more that we see she may have had a hand in escalating the conflict.
Both Brown and Rihanna canceled their Grammy performances. Justin Timberlake replaced Brown and other things were moved around in light of Rihanna’s cancellation. Personally, I thought it was interesting that the press didn’t get wind of the incident until that afternoon during Pre-Grammy red carpet shows.
Brown may have had abuse in his childhood, but here and now is what has put him in the recent spotlight. Neither he nor Rihanna ever officially confirmed their relationship, but the two have been spotted together before. Both of these two emerging stars had no where to go but up and this may be the one hurdle on their way to the top.
The more we learn about the incident, the more it seems horrific. The pictures that have been leaked onto the internet make it difficult to tell whether the woman is actually Rihanna, but the similarity is uncanny. Rihanna is said to be at home with her family in Barbados and Brown is with his family seeking counseling. He may need it for all the scrutiny he may have to endure from this incident.
