Turns out M.I.A. wanted to give us something else; her middle finger. We all know how the network stations feel about vulgarity and this is stirring up old wounds for them (wardrobe malfunction ring a bell?). NBC has apologized to viewers for the incident but M.I.A. still remains at the center of this controversy.
Lions taking care of business
The Detroit Lions defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 48-3 this past Sunday, marking the largest margin of victory in franchise history. The offense was only mediocre, but the defense came through in a big way. They only allowed the Chiefs three points in the first quarter. If the Lions can keep this up through the season they'll be a serious threat for the playoffs.

The 2011 NCAA National Championship game was as mediocre as they come. Neither team shot well and each was sloppy, but the UConn Huskies took home the title, defeating the Butler Bulldogs 53-41.

The running game was slightly slow but the passing game made up for it. Kirk Cousins threw one touchdown pass to B.J. Cunningham, taking the Spartans to 7-0 on the season.
