Films about war are rarely ever pleasant, but "Red Tails" has a little something extra. It's touching yet funny, inspiring and educational. How accurate it tells the story of this part of the Tuskegee Airmen's legacy isn't clear.
Timberlake and Kunis make excellent “Friends With Benefits”
"Friends With Benefits" stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, a duo that makes this movie what it is. A timeless tales of a girls' search for her Knight In Shining Armor, who was there all along; all she needed to do was recognize him. The great part about this movie is while it has a message, the comedy rarely stops. You laugh and learn at the same time. Don't worry about spending money on this one; it's worth it.
Look at him now; Chris Brown shines at 2011 BET Awards
The 2011 BET Awards were shining with black star power as usual. Chris Brown lit up the night, taking home four awards. Even Justin Bieber made his first BET Awards appearance. Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé proved that Destiny's Child's aura still reigns and classic R&B acts such as Mary J. Blige, Anita Baker and Patti LaBelle graced the stage. And Nicki Minaj almost looked normal!
Twilight dominates — AGAIN — at 2011 MTV Movie Awards
The 2011 MTV Movie Awards aired Sunday, June 5. This year's show brought more of the usual; antics from Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (this time Taylor Lautner got involved), groping, solid performances and Twilight domination.
This definitely should be “The Last Airbender”
M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" hit theaters in 3D on July 1. Is Shyamalan losing his touch or was this just not his film? No comedy, names pronounced wrong and the entire film was left-field from the cartoon series from Nickelodeon that it was based on. It's about time to go back to the drawing board on this one.
Inspite of everything, “Eclipse” makes the grade
"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" continues the story of 18-year-old Bella Swan and her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen. The only issue they face? Bella's best shape-shifting friend Jacob Black is in love with Bella too. Oh, and an army of newborn vampires is out to kill her. All while getting ready to graduate from high school. Did I mention she's getting married too?
“Toy Story 3” a magical masterpiece
"Toy Story 3" hit theaters this past weekend. The positive reviews are insanely numerous and it raked in over $100 million through Sunday. Woody, Buzz and the gang fear they are left to fend for themselves when Andy prepares for college. Daycare seems like an option, but they soon find the grass isn't as green on the other side.
“Twilight Saga” steals golden popcorn at 2010 MTV Movie Awards
The Movie Awards and the VMAs are MTV's version of the Grammy's and the Oscars. "Twilight" dominated yet again in 2010, with a few other props given here and there. Aziz Ansari should keep his day job. They'll be re-running this one for ages.
“The Vampire’s Assistant” fails to impress
"Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant" was an excellent concept, but it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. The movie is very loosely based on the three books, and that's really the only issue. If you haven't read the books and want to see the movie, it'll be worth every penny.
Lots of Rotten Tomatoes for “New Moon”
"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" may have shattered some records, but critics didn't buy it. Though much of the movie was slightly lackluster, it was a brooding love story well told on screen. Taylor Lautner stole the show; I recommend this one.
