Parties being super-spreader events makes sense for several reasons. Not only because you’re more likely to breathe in COVID-19 than any other method, but human nature is congregation. It’s natural to want to get together and that being risky is hard to grasp.
Untitled Obsession
A prose for those who want to find their way out of obsession ❤
Random Reflections: Black Women in Metal
Emotions are natural, even negative ones. I watched a Ted Talk about emotional courage and the importance of wanting to feel. When I was a teenager and to this day, I get my anger and frustration out with metal music.

Does It Pay to Play Fake?
In the past I’ve written about how into celebrities I’ve been over the years. These days that term has broadened to include online personalities, namely niche bloggers and YouTubers. With the advent of social media and smart phones, people around the world feel more connected than ever. In my opinion, it’s been a gift and …

I Met Seán Again – TWICE!
Last Tuesday, May 29th, was Seán’s (Jacksepticeye) “How Did We Get Here” show in Detroit, Michigan. I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks – how often does he come to Middle America? It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I got online at 10:00am the day they went on sale and bought VIP tickets. I paid …
Evanescence’s “Imperfection” is back?
It's been six years since Evanescence's latest, self-titled album was released. They did an international tour to support it, released music videos for "What You Want" and "My Heart Is Broken" and then...hiatus. The band wasn't missing entirely during that time; they did a few live shows and Amy Lee released some music on her own …

A-T-L BABY!
I wanted an adventure this summer. I decided to take a trip to Hotlanta to see Justin Bieber perform at his last Believe Tour show! I met some amazing girls that have become my close friends and had the time of my life! Mixed with late nights, asshole bouncers and a few of Justin's crew it was one hell of a weekend. Read on to see what happened.
NBU: MY story of meeting Justin Bieber’s mom
Justin Bieber's mom, Pattie Mallette, raised one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. But she has her own story to tell. From experiencing sexual abuse at a young age to being a single mom her life wasn't always the easiest. But her heart is pure and God brought her through her own storm. Her son is her most precious gift and with "Nowhere But Up" she wants to inspire other young men and women who may be going through tough times. There is light at the end of the tunnel. And the one good thing about hitting rock bottom is there is nowhere to go but up.
Switch Party of a lifetime
Jesse McCartney first came on the scene in 2004 with his number one hit "Beautiful Soul." This August he's opening for the Backstreet Boys and here in Detroit he made a pit stop at my favorite radio station for an acoustic performance. Believe me when I say that his voice is amazing live. We even got to meet him up close and take pictures! This is definitely one for the scrapbook. If you have a dream, go for it. You don't know what can happen for you until you try.
HEYYYY Mrs. Carter!
Beyoncé is an icon of this generation. She's gone strong for over a decade and this summer she hit the road for her Mrs. Carter World Tour. On July 20th the tour stopped in Auburn Hills, Michigan and I was lucky enough to witness it. Jumping around, screaming my lungs out and being smashed against the 'B' stage was all in an evening's work for the queen. From her new hits like "Grown Woman" to the classics from Dangerously In Love, Beyoncé's is one show you don't want to miss.
Charlamagne on child stars: Point made?
Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. You don't find teen stars bigger than these two. But TMZ and other media outlets seem to enjoy throwing stones at them. Where does the issue really lie, though? Is it what they're getting into during down time? Or the people they have around them? Charlamagne from The Breakfast Club has a few theories that he explains. Watch and read to see if you agree.
Kelly Rowland will “Talk A Good Game”
Co-founder and one-third of Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland is no stranger to the music industry. From the deep and heavy "Dirty Laundry," to the light and fluffy "This Is Love," you won't get bored going through these songs. You won't regret picking up this album, there's literally a tune for every occasion. Don't take my entire word for it, give it a listen yourself!

Once upon a time there was a guy from Stratford, Ontario who would become the world's biggest pop star. Two girls from Michigan would meet on Tumblr and become best friends. Those girls would go to his concert together and meet their inspiration together. This is our story.
Teens unite at the 2012 awards made just for them
The Teen Choice Awards is an event every tween and teen looks forward to. With all the stars, performances and awards who wouldn't? But this year things were a bit on the boring side. Demi Lovato was lovely hosting with Glee's Kevin McHale, but no one can deny the awkwardness there. What made the night? Justin Bieber. Without him the show probably would've caused major let downs. Carly Rae Jepsen spiced things up a bit as well, but No Doubt and Flo Rida's performances just didn't cut it. Throw in the Twilight Saga and Taylor Swift and you've got yourself an award show.
Justin Bieber’s new album will make you ‘Believe’
Justin Bieber is BACK with a brand new album, Believe! Call it a transition record if you will, but it's quite clear that Bieber is almost grown. There are songs for just about everyone; fast-paced, bass-laden club bangers, sweet ballads, cute and bubbly dance songs and even a few mature ones if you get the Deluxe versions. There's a lot of buzz about it; the music is great for all ages. Take a chance with it; you may be surprised by how much you like it!
2012 Billboard Awards bring the flare
The 2012 Billboard Music Awards were laden with talent and performances of epic proportions. Bieber himself got on stage, as well as his proteges The Wanted and Carly Rae Jepsen. His mentor Usher tore it up, as well as Chris Brown and Katy Perry. The great R&B songstress and legend Whitney Houston was honored with moving tributes from John Legend and Jordin Sparks. Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch, the late Donna Summers and Robin Gibb all received tribute to their lives and careers as well. And get this; it all went down in Las Vegas, Nevada. Talk about a party!

Films about war are rarely ever pleasant, but "Red Tails" has a little something extra. It's touching yet funny, inspiring and educational. How accurate it tells the story of this part of the Tuskegee Airmen's legacy isn't clear.
Adele shines at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards
While the 54th Annual Grammy Awards were seeped in memories of the late, great Whitney Houston, the show celebrated what it's most known for and one of the most powerful forces on Earth; music. The performances were energetic and smooth and the presenters and attendees looked stunning. Adele ruled the night with six awards from every category she was nominated in, including Album of the Year. Well deserved, as were all the winners.
Loss of another icon; Whitney Houston found dead
The world has lost another icon. On Saturday afternoon, world-renown R&B songstress Whitney Houston was found dead in a hotel in Los Angeles. She was preparing to perform at a tribute concert to her mentor, Clive Davis. The cause of her death is unknown at this point, but once an autopsy is complete more details will emerge. She was known for her incredible voice in songs like "I Will Always Love You" and "I'm Every Woman," and also her amazing acting. She starred alongside Denzel Washington in "The Preacher's Wife" and Angela Basset in "Waiting To Exhale." Houston will be missed and condolences go out to her friends and family.
M.I.A. the center of Superbowl controversy this time around
During the Superbowl XLVI Halftime Show, singer M.I.A. joined Madonna on stage to help her perform her new song "Give Me All Your Lovin'." Turns out M.I.A. wanted to give us something else; her middle finger. We all know how the network stations feel about vulgarity and this is stirring up old wounds for them (wardrobe malfunction ring a bell?). NBC has apologized to viewers for the incident but M.I.A. still remains at the center of this controversy.
“It All Belongs To” Brandy and Monica in new duet
Brandy and Monica are back! Back in 1998 the duo released their hit record "The Boy Is Mine." 14 years later they've come out with a brand new follow-up song called "It All Belongs To Be," rumored to be on Monica's new album 'New Life' (due April 10th). Their voices are just as smooth as ever and they blend even better this time around because it's more of a coming together than a back and forth exchange. A video is supposedly going to be shot on February 13th and I'm not sure about the rest of you R&B fans but I'm looking forward to it!
Where in the world has Jesse McCartney gone?
Jesse McCartney has been off the scene for a while. We were supposed to get a new album almost a year ago, but we haven't heard anything new on that. He was in the running for a Fox show but they decided not to pick it up. These days, he's slated to appear on CSI and he claims 2012 is the magic year for "Have It All" to finally be released. We'll see if he keeps his word to his loyal fans this time.
It’s not hard to keep up with the Kardashians
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are Reality TV's biggest stars. Their show "Kourtney and Kim Take New York
Timberlake and Kunis make excellent “Friends With Benefits”
"Friends With Benefits" stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, a duo that makes this movie what it is. A timeless tales of a girls' search for her Knight In Shining Armor, who was there all along; all she needed to do was recognize him. The great part about this movie is while it has a message, the comedy rarely stops. You laugh and learn at the same time. Don't worry about spending money on this one; it's worth it.
